IdeaExchange Winners: Spring '25

Salesforce users from around the world just wrapped up another round of IdeaExchange Prioritization voting—where you don’t just dream about your favorite features, you actually help decide what gets built next.

If you’re new to the process, here’s how it works: ideas submitted to the Salesforce IdeaExchange that gain enough traction are eligible for prioritization. That means product teams map out timelines, and then the community (that’s us!) gets to vote on what gets tackled sooner.

The February/March 2025 round just ended, and three winning ideas rose to the top—each one aimed at making the Salesforce experience faster, smarter, and more admin-friendly.

Here’s a closer look at what’s coming!

🥇 Winning Idea #1: Max/Min on Date Fields in Analytics

Category: Tableau & CRM Analytics
View idea →

Currently, calculating the max or min of a date in Analytics requires converting it into Epoch Days first—a workaround that’s anything but user-friendly for the average data analyst. This new feature will let users apply MAX() and MIN() functions directly to date fields in Recipes, Lenses, and Reports.

Why it matters:
Now you’ll be able to do things like list the most recent customer interaction or the earliest deal closed—without relying on admin help or complex workarounds.

🥈 Winning Idea #2: Merge Opportunity Records

Category: Sales / Opportunities
View idea →

Ever had two identical Opportunities created by mistake? Currently, merging them means manually deleting one (and potentially losing notes, related records, and historical data). This upcoming feature will allow users to locate and merge duplicate Opportunity records natively—just like they can with Accounts and Contacts.

Why it matters:
It preserves important opportunity history, avoids data loss, and keeps reporting accurate without skewing Opportunity age or totals.

🥉 Winning Idea #3: Filter on Custom Report Formula Fields

Category: Lightning Reports & Dashboards
View idea →

This long-requested upgrade will finally let users apply filters to custom formula fields directly within the Report Builder UI. No more workarounds or calculated fields that can’t be filtered!

Why it matters:
Get cleaner, more actionable reports with precise filtering based on your own logic. This saves time and empowers both admins and end users to build the reports they actually want.

💬 “We’ve heard you loud and clear,” said Salesforce Product Manager Mayank Sengar. “The team has already started digging in, and we’re committed to delivering this highly-requested feature within this year.”

And remember—prioritization voting opens about three times a year, and every vote helps shape the future of Salesforce products. So next time, be sure to cast yours!

Until then, keep working hard, smart, and happy. We’ll see you in the cloud!
